What is the Third Age?

A time of creativity and fulfilment for people aged over 50 years. Although U3A is called "University", being in your Third Age is the only credential needed to become a member,. Those who teach and those who learn are all members of U3A .

How is U3A run?

Bright District U3A is a not-for-profit organisation. U3A members organise their own activities drawing on the skills of one another. Like-minded members from all walks of life form study and recreational groups to share knowledge and activities with fellow members.

Because it is a voluntary organisation, Bright District U3A is able to keep the annual membership at $25 per annum.. Membership entitles you to enrol in as many activities as you wish, in most cases without course fees. Some courses are for a single term, while others continue throughout the year.

Being a self-help organisation means members are encouraged to also take an active part in administration, planning and other support roles.

U3A offers learning, and personal development, opportunities and new friendships.
